Summer Housing

Thank you for your interest in summer housing at Newbury College. In order to be eligible for summer housing, students must be enrolled in an in-person summer course at Newbury College or a credit-bearing internship. Students are only able to reside in summer housing during the duration of their class or internship. Food service will not be available during the summer housing period.

Costs and payment due dates are outlined in the application. Summer residents are required to live on-campus for a minimum of one session. The cost of summer housing includes the week of graduation and the week before the start of the fall semester.

Summer residents will be housed in doubles or triples with one or more roommate(s) (residents may request roommates on their application). The Office of Residence Life cannot guarantee single rooms for Summer Housing. Summer Housing costs do not include board and the Newbury College Dining Hall is not open over the summer. Summer residents will be able to park on campus at no additional cost, after registering their car with Campus Security. MBTA LinkPasses are not included in the cost of summer housing and are not available through the College.

All Newbury College and Residence Life policies will be in effect for the summer. Please note that alcohol use and smoking are prohibited in our residence halls. Students interested in summer housing must be committed to Newbury College by being registered for Fall 2017 classes, in addition to being registered in an in-person summer course at Newbury College or a credit-bearing internship.

If you are interested in summer housing you must meet with John Mayo, Assistant Director of Residence Life.  Please setup an appointment with John by contacting him at (617) 730-7156, in his office, or at  At this meeting you will receive the Summer Housing Application and Summer Housing Agreement. Read the Agreement carefully, complete, sign, and return it to the Office of Residence Life, SC 105 with a $125.00 non-refundable deposit (checks and money orders should be made payable to Newbury College). Students will only be able to deposit their account is cleared with Student Accounts.

Summer residents must be in good financial, judicial and social standing with the College. Any student interested in living in summer housing must have a meeting with the Assistant Director of Residence Life to address any concerns.

Even though we have been able to meet the demand for summer housing in the past, numbers of students requesting housing change from year to year. It is to your advantage to get your application in early. Summer housing applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Applications are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016. Applicants will be notified by Friday, April 29, 2016. All accepted summer housing students must submit the $125.00 deposits by Friday, May 6, 2016.
