Student Feature: Mallory Stefan ’20 Spends Summer Working with Newbury Admissions

July 23, 2018 – Mallory Stefan ’20 is spending her summer working with Newbury’s admissions office as an Admissions Ambassador. Stefan started as an Ambassador in Fall 2017 and is helping the staff this summer with giving tours, working at the front desk, helping with paperwork and assisting with other administrative tasks.

“Working in admissions is always fun whether it’s during the year or the summer,” said Stefan. She also explained that working with admissions is extremely rewarding. “I was drawn to the position because I really want to be a resource for new students. As an ambassador, I have the pleasure of giving prospective students a great first experience on our campus. I can share my knowledge and love of Newbury with an audience that cares and will use it to determine whether Newbury is a good fit for them.”

Newbury encourages all prospective students to visit campus to get a better idea of campus life. Newbury offers tours and holds events for students and families throughout the entire year. This summer, come to campus and meet Mallory. Hear about her Newbury experiences and ask any questions you may have.

She said, “I love Newbury because it's a small campus with a lot of opportunities. I got involved easily and made some of my best friends. My class sizes are small, so I connect more with my professors and peers. The resources I have are outstanding and they grow every semester I'm here. I have had multiple leadership opportunities, a great space to stay fit with the Chawla Fitness Center, a consortium with Hellenic College that allows me to pursue my softball career with a home field, and great "After Newbury" resources through the career center for when I graduate and am ‘Real Life Ready.’”

Stefan is majoring in communications with a double-minor in business and psychology. In addition to her position as an Admissions Ambassador, she served as an Orientation Leader and Peer Mentor for 2017-2018 and will serve as a Resident Assistant for the upcoming academic year. She is a two-sport athlete, running cross country in the fall and pitching for the women’s softball team in the spring.
