Apr. 10, 2018 – At the March meeting for Newbury’s Board of Trustees, three trustees were reelected to serve for a second term. Gerald Richards, Dr. Kyle Murphy and Leo Fonseca ’93 joined the Board in 2014 and have been reelected in accordance with Board bylaws.
Gerald Richards is currently the Founder and CEO of Black Unicorn Consultants, a nonprofit management and executive coaching firm specializing in helping organizations and emerging leaders in the nonprofit space, especially leaders of color. He is also the incoming CEO of the Super Power Agency, a nonprofit literacy and creativity organization working with youth ages 8 - 18 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
He said, “I am excited to continue to support Newbury College as a trustee. Whether in the US or in the UK, supporting youth development and education is an important part of my life’s work and being a part of Newbury’s mission helps me achieve that.”
Dr. Kyle Murphy currently serves as President and Chief Operating Office of BrandRep and as Practitioner Faculty of Strategy at Pepperdine University Graziadio Business School.

After 15 great years as CEO of Stephanie's Restaurant Group, Leo Fonseca ’93 has transitioned into a new position as Senior Vice President of Operations for Lyons Group. With his new role, Fonesca looks forward to utilizing his extensive work experience and appreciation for the hospitality industry to drive business to the Lyons Group’s many concepts, expand its reach throughout the greater Boston area and beyond, and strengthen its identity as the authority in the Boston restaurant scene. Fonesca will oversee the Lyons Group’s impressive portfolio of over 30 venues and lead the organization's strategic growth plan that includes many new exciting concepts and locations.

He said, "Newbury College will always hold a special place in my life and my heart," says Fonseca. In addition to the reelection of three trustees, Trustee Stephen King was elected as Finance Committee Chair and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. Trustee King joined the Board in 2016.
