Apr. 3, 2018 – Congratulations to Vice President of Enrollment Management, Paul Vaccaro, on receiving the 2018 Distinguished Service Award from The College Board’s New England Regional Council. Vaccaro was presented with the award last month at the New England Regional Forum.
This award is given to "an individual who is an innovator and leader in his or her field, a passionate advocate for important educational and societal goals, and someone who has reached beyond his or her profession to promote ideas," according to The College Board.
Vaccaro said, "I am truly honored and humbled to receive this award. As the true spirit of the College Board lives in its overall advocacy for education, I consider myself very fortunate that the majority of my career in higher learning has allowed me to become an advocate for the small private college. Within today’s educational landscape, small private colleges continue to be viable and vital options for students and I am thankful to the College Board for helping to promote and elevate the profile and platform of our efforts."
Coming to Newbury in June 2017, Vaccaro has served as an influential member of the College community and Senior Team. Vaccaro leads the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Adult & Professional Studies and the Registrar and shows constant dedication to Newbury’s mission and strategic goals.
Newbury President, Dr. Joseph L. Chillo, said, "I nominated Paul for the College Board Distinguished Service Award for his dedication and service in creating student access and for being deeply committed in helping first generation students succeed in their dreams of a college education."
Vaccaro has over 15 years of experience in higher education enrollment, admissions and marketing and served as Vice President for Marketing, Communication and Enrollment at Regis College for seven years before coming to Newbury. Vaccaro earned his Bachelor of Science and MBA from Suffolk University.
