Jan. 18, 2018 – Dr. Michelle Brimecombe joined the Newbury Community in January 2015, bringing years of knowledge and experience to the Sports Management program. Dr. Brimecombe now serves as Assistant Professor of Sport Management.
She says, “I have been at Newbury for three years now teaching sport management and business management courses. What I like best about being here: I love that I know all my students by name. They aren’t just a number here. I get to watch them grow as young adults and students alike. Watching them succeed in and out of the classroom is one of the best feelings in the world.”
While Dr. Brimecombe teaches a variety of classes within the Roger A. Saunders School of Business & Hospitality Management, she cites Organizational Behavior as one of her favorites: “Getting to discuss what makes and breaks organizations on a daily basis is a joy in life.”
Dr. Brimecombe is a dedicated faculty member who continues to inspire and support her students. She says, “My best experience in the classroom was the Fall of 2016 Sport Seminar course. That class was filled with fun, hard work, excitement and great accomplishments. When each of those students walked across the graduation stage the following May is a memory I will never forget as I am proud of each one of them.”
Dr. Brimecombe received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; her Master’s degree from Georgia Southern University; and her Ph.D. from Florida State University.
