Jan. 16, 2018 – Newbury junior, Noelle Sass, and Newbury alumnus, Dan Horwitz ’17, are nominated for induction into the Chi Sigma Mu Honors Society and invited to attend the 2018 Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.
Chi Sigma Mu is a student honors society through COSMA that is open to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students who achieve academic excellence in their coursework and are nominated by a faculty member.
Assistant Professor of Sport Management, Dr. Michelle Brimecombe, nominated Sass and Horwitz. She says, “As a faulty member, I am proud to see them both being honored as I have been able to watch them grow as young adults and students. They both have and continue to work hard while representing themselves, their families and Newbury College.”
Sass is appreciative for the opportunity to expand her academic experiences. She says, “It feels amazing to have earned this honor, It just goes to show that hard work really does pay off. I feel that it is not only great for me though, It is a great thing for Newbury as a whole as well. I love representing my school on the field and in the classroom and this really shows that. I would not have been able to earn such an honor without the people who have been pushing me throughout my whole college career.”
The 2018 COSMA Conference will be held February 8-9, 2018 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. Congratulations to Sass and Horwitz for earning this honor.
