Oct. 23, 2017 – On October 2, members of the Newbury Community traveled to TPC Boston for the 8th annual Nighthawk Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament was especially exciting because TPC Boston, located in Norton, Ma., is the only PGA Tour Facility in Massachusetts.
Over 70 golfers participated in the event and helped raise more than $73,000 to support Nighthawk Athletics. This year, the Golf Tournament raised money towards a new scoreboard for the field at Hellenic College, which recently became available for Newbury’s use.
Teams were treated to lunch in the clubhouse before heading out to the prestigious course. Participants were challenged with a putting contest, an air canon, a driving contest, and more throughout the day. The winners of the Tournament were Peter Figueira, Mark Mitchell, Fred Moore and Pat Hurrie.
The day ended back in the clubhouse with a buffet-style dinner and raffles, including a $200 driver and a gift card to Seasons 52.
Thank you to all the golfers and sponsors of the event. The success of the Nighthawk Golf Tournament benefits Newbury’s dedicated Division III athletic teams and would not be possible without the support of the community.
