Sept. 26, 2017– As Newbury continues to define its academic niche and mission, the College conducts program evaluations to ensure each of the four schools offer relevant and successful academic programs. Newbury prioritizes student success, both in the classroom and in the workforce, which is why the College focuses on majors that produce skilled professionals and viable career options.
As the College moves forward with its Strategic Plan, it will continue to assess current programs and identify new, valuable ones to incorporate into the academic offerings. Since the conclusion of the 2016-2017 academic year, Newbury has restructured the organization of its schools, added a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and added additional terminally-credentialed faculty in order to strengthen the baccalaureate culture of the institution.
To continue with this mission, Newbury is no longer accepting new students into the Fashion Merchandising and International Business programs. This change is another step towards achieving the goals set in the Strategic Plan. Students currently enrolled in these programs and the entering class of 2021 will not be affected—all students will be able to graduate with their desired majors. Newbury will continue offering these programs until the end of the 2021-2022 academic year in order to ensure students can complete them.
Newbury has had a successful start to the 2017-2018 academic year and looks forward to continuing to enhance not only the academic offerings, but the overall student experience.
