Sept. 1, 2017 – Newbury President, Dr. Joseph L. Chillo, has been elected to the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities in Massachusetts (AICUM) Board of Directors. He will serve on the Board for three years. Congratulations to President Chillo as he will play an important role in the discussion of independent higher education in Massachusetts.
AICUM works to better the higher education community by speaking out against issues, promoting policy changes, educating the public internationally, helping students, and more.
According the the AICUM website:
“AICUM works closely with its member institutions to strengthen higher education, to advocate for need-based financial aid for Massachusetts students, and to address state and federal legislative and regulatory issues. The Association also promotes increased awareness of the significant contributions by colleges and universities to the cultural, economic, and knowledge-based reputation of the state.”
Sixty independent, private colleges and universities collaborate to put the Association’s goals into action. Newbury is proud, not only to be a member, but to have its President serve on the Board of Directors.
