Housing Selection Process Overview

All currently enrolled full-time students are eligible to participate in housing selection. To select your room for next year you have to follow these steps:

  • Complete the online housing selection checklist (available on Nethawk on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.).

  • Sign the Cancellation Agreement.

  • Get your selection number (sent to your Newbury College email on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.)

  • Attend Housing Selection on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.

Housing Selection Process Checklist

On Wednesday, March 28 you will be able to log-in to Nethawk to see the “Housing Selection Checklist.” This online checklist will confirm what you have to do to be eligible to sign-up for housing for next year. You must complete your checklist and sign-up online to participate in the housing selection process.

The following steps must be completed as indicated through the online checklist:

  • Submit your immunization record
  • File a FAFSA
  • Be registered for a full-time course load or sign an agreement confirming you will register
  • Have no outstanding housing holds
  • Have no outstanding financial holds
  • Have no outstanding academic holds
  • Have a cleared balance with Student Accounts
  • Sign Cancellation Agreement

Selection Number

Housing Selection Numbers are generated using a random number generator. All students who have completed their Housing Selection Checklist AND have submitted a Cancellation Agreement will receive a housing selection number.

Students are grouped by credits (79 or more, 79-48, 47-24, 24 or less). Then a random number is assigned to each student in the group. This random number is the order in which students will participate in housing selection. Selection numbers will be sent to your Newbury College email address on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. This email will also identify all available rooms for housing selection.

Talk to potential roommates regarding housing options. We recommend selecting a few housing options. All roommates must have submitted a cancellation agreement and received a housing selection number. If you do not receive a housing selection number you will not be able to participate in housing selection.

Roommate Finder

Need a roommate? Use our Roommate Finder App for assistance. Submit your roommate questionnaire and the Residence Life staff will work towards helping you find a suitable roommate. Residence Life will share contact information with groups, but it is up to the students to connect and decide if they would like to live with each other.

We will also offer a short meet and greet prior to selection to assist students without roommates. The meet and greet will take place on Thursday, April 17 at 8:00 PM in Weltman 2nd Floor Lounge.

Selection Day - Picking your room!

We offer students two opportunities to select a room. The first is Single Room Selection, this process is for students who are interested in possibly picking a single room for next year. The second is General Room Selection, this is the process in which the majority of students will participate.

Can't attend?

If you can't attend on Selection Day then you can have a friend pick for you. By using proxy selection form you can allow any Newbury student to select in your absence.
