Massachusetts Law requires all students who will be enrolling at a college in Massachusetts to have adequate health and accident insurance. This law applies to all students carrying at least 75 percent of the full-time curriculum or 9 or more credit hours. The College has partnered with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care to offer a student health insurance plan that meets the benefit level required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. You may waive this insurance coverage only if you have health insurance that is comparable to this plan. For further information on minimum coverage required by law or to determine if your health insurance is comparable, please call 1-800-888-2250 or visit www.mass.gov/dhcfp and click on 'Student Insurance'.
All Newbury students registered for 9 credits or more will be billed for health insurance and enrolled in the College's plan unless you complete the Online Waiver Process.
The charge for Newbury's student health insurance is $2,140. This provides you with health insurance coverage for the period August 24, 2016 to August 23, 2017. The coverage is only basic, thus we encourage you to review enclosed materials to decide if the plan suits your health needs.
If you would like to enroll in the health plan you do not need to do anything as all students are automatically signed up!
