The School facilitates student initiative through both independent and group work, and encourages students to develop innovative and creative problem-solving strategies, as potential leaders, managers, and pioneers.
The curriculum is designed to foster effective communication skills, and to strengthen the ability to analyze information in order to make sound decisions. Particular emphasis is given throughout these courses to issues of integrity, honesty and social responsibility. Newbury graduates of the School of Applied Science & Human Services are well-prepared for professional employment in related areas such as criminal justice, psychology, human services, political science, sociology, and philosophy, or for further education in graduate or professional school.
