The Information Technology Department provides support
to the computing environment at Newbury College. The support
includes: network support, Internet connectivity, computing
labs, central e-mail services, help desk, and telecommunications
services.
To provide
better technology services to the college community, a wireless
network has been installed that covers nearly the entire
campus. The wireless network provides Internet service in
all buildings and the Courtyard.
Note #1: If you do not have a wireless card in your laptop,
you will not be able to connect to the Newbury wireless
network. If you have questions or need help connecting to
the wireless network, please contact the Newbury College
Help Desk at
helpdesk@newbury.edu, or visit the
Help Desk in the Academic Center, room LG 002.
Note #2: The instructions to connect to the Newbury College
wireless network are for the default Windows XP network
configuration system. If you have alternate network management
software that came with your wireless card the connection
method will be different. Please follow these instructions
and select the same options to configure your wireless network.
For example, you will want to select StudentWireless as your
wireless network.
Note#3: Nearly all browsers are compatible with the Newbury
College wireless network, including the most commonly used
browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
